anyone know a decent music app for windows phone 8.1 ?
Something really basic without any streaming nonsense would be ideal...

Xbox music keeps giving me a 'can't play, try again later' message at which point it just stops (you'd think it would at least skip to the next track or something...)
Tried several things now including formatting the memory card - but I've come to the conclusion that its just a pile of poo


(I'm still a fan of winamp and the old Nokia music player on the Symbian 60 phones - because they work! )

Can you not get Winamp on Windows phone? They have an Android version and it's just as good as the normal version.

Take a look at "foobar2000".

Winamp has changed hands recently so I don't see a new app coming out anytime soon....

although not as basic as you might like, -it does music and videos
I have to recommend VLC though I have never tried it on a windows phone

VLC will play owt, music or video.
