stick on / self adhesive front number plate size...

YES i know they're illegal but does this look ok size wise?

Its obviously not legal size (whats the point its illegal anyway) but does it look too big/too small? Positioned too far forward?

I think it's when you go too small with them that the police realise your taking the p!ss and pull you...

It will be in standard legal font only slightly smaller

i think it could do with being slightly smaller.
or maybe rounded off edges would make it look smaller?

I guess your making your own? If so where ya getting the materials from??? Got a vinyl front plate on mine and ordered it as a legal size/font/spacing but because its this size its laying over a compound curve. Could do with making it slightly smaller.........

If its broke, fix it. If it aint broke, take it apart and find out how it works!

looks good to me, will suit your car as well i think. keeping it at that size will not attract attention as it might do if you made it smaller.

No not making my own just going to order one off this guy (link) on ebay as they'll make them to any size.
No idea how good quality it will be, pretty cheap tho.

Yes think i'm going to radius the corners when i get it too, just trying to decide on a basic size at the min...

"legal size" depends on the number of numbers/letters, as there is a standard size for the characters + an allowance of at least a certain margin all round. My legal acrylic plate was miles too wide as my reg is Q51 xxx, so the 1 is narrower than most others and I've only got 2 digits. I sawed off 2-3" each side and it still has legal margins.

Personally, I would go for legal size font and trim the background to the minimum allowable size, then argue the toss if a plod wants to get really picky about the materials, BS mark, etc. The main purpose is so they can identify the vehicle anyway, so as long as it's not too horizontal you should get away with it

I have just passed my MOT with stuck on "plate"on front of bonnet. Its standard size and standard font, I enquired at MOT and they said as long as its standard size/font and mounted in as near as vertical position as possible it was OK.
