I know this might sound daft, but what would that fail on? The damper is still there (assuming that thing to the right of the spring is the damper).

hmmm....
as already mentioned.. if that is the damper to the right and the spring isn't broken, i bet this actually works,, as in it would increase the
spring rating?? maybe!! and it's a good point saying what would it fail on, i bet the correct stowage of tennis balls isn't covered in
the mot manual... if it does work and isn't actually dangerous it's bloody clever, still hilarious though... the ultimate
''that'll do it" engineering solution..

Top effort!
All it needs is connecting up to a manifold system that leaks, a pump that overheats as it tries to top up the leaks, and an expensive computer that
throws tantrums and goes into limp-home mode for no reason whatsoever and you've got a P38 Range Rover...

Maybe it is a P38, the guy had those problems and thought "balls to it..." then came a flash of inspiration.......

Ah, I saw that one, but that's a full replacement of a spring with tennis balls, rather than simply padding out an existing spring? I am not
surprised at all that that one failed!
