Handbrake (Spot Type) Caliper Recommendation

It's been while since I last looked into these and it seems that HiSpec and Wilwood both offer a new (to me!) design (V2 and MC4).

HiSpec V1 and V2.

Wilwod Mechanical S and MC4.

Wilwood Link

I've only ever handled the HiSpec V1 and the Wilwood Mechanical S. The V1 seems a nicely designed bit of kit, but I've no idea how it works in practice. The Mechanical S just looks / feels cheap and nasty.

I've not seen the V2 or MC4 in the flesh, but they both look decent.

I especially like the look of the MC4, but sadly it's too narrow for my brake discs.

So, anyone fitted any off the above? And how have you found them to work?

Cheers!

I haven't used the stand alone calipers, but are using the ones above, mount up alright.
I had an issue with them rubbing on the disc bell, but I am using an aftermarket alloy sierra bearing carrier, their branded rear disc and calipers, so a slight mismatch of component's.

only a tiny amount of machining required on the disc bell to give me clearance again.

not a fan of fitting a second set or rear calipers, when one set will do all.

I'm also running the ones bg0013 is using, I have added some inline springs on the hand brake cable to aid return of the handbrake arm but find them to be great

calipers

I have both of the willwood calipers in my workshop and the quality of the mc4 both in design and construction is far better than the s calipers which are more suited to a go kart! The adjustment anchorage and leverage is very good.
