Accelerator cable fixing

Any suggestions as to how i should fix my accelerator cable wire to my Luego accelerator pedal.

Cable supplied came with a suitable end to connect to the engine but pedal end is just wire.

At the moment i have a used a jubilee clip tightened right up to clamp the cable onto the pedal rod. Seems to work ok, but will Mr SVA man like it?

Cheers

Gary

I used an elecrtical block connector without the plastic protective cover on.

Two screws to hold it on, been on the car since day one (about three years) and never had a problem

Iv got a pushbike cable nipple on mine. Cable goes through grub screw in the end to hold it.

Drill through the top of the rod. Feed wire through and clamp with electric block connector. Don't cut to much off of the end of the cable, just tidy up with electrical tape.

If the throttle gets sticky you will need to use some liquid grease in the plastic liner.

Under bonnet temperatures on mine mean this a regular servicing job !

With the cable clamped to the rod it will break in no time due to the bending action on the wire. Either drill through as said or cut a slot down the rod for the cable to locate in.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
