T-rex/G2 (or similar) in UK?

Hi guys,

I'm a browser who's just discovered the 3-wheel section of this awesome site!

I'd really like to own a T-rex style car one day, but seems they are only available in the US and Canada... Is there anyone in the UK that can supply one, or even a similar kit?

Some links for people who don't know what I'm talking about:

I don't mean to offend, but those top two are hideous.

Like a C5 on steroids.

The problem with these now is fitting a reverse, now a requirement under IVA.

£ wheelers have the same requirement for reverse under IVA? Or is there a different test seeing as its classed as a motorcycle?

I am working on an R1 powered trike at the moment. 320kgs. 150 bhp. 2.5m wheel base. To be sold in kit form, probably £4k
To be launched at the Stafford show Sept.
Trikes are covered by MSVA not BIVA.
Fee is £104 and £17 retest. Far less strict than BIVA/SVA and no reverse required.
You can even just have one headlight if you prefer. That could help stylists create something unusual.

What's the point of a roof but no windscreen ? It will be like driving a parachute into the wind.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

3 wheelers do MSVA not IVA. No reverse required.

There was a T Rex lookalike kit at the Carlisle PA USA Kit car show in May. It was very inexpensive compared to the original T Rex cars. Google ?

The Trex is one of the fastest Trikes I have ever been in, its powered by a ZZR1400 engine, Campagna who make it have a custom in house cable operated reverse system, it works very well, so no problem with IVA at all. it uses a massive 335 rear tyre for superior grip and is one of the nicest reverse trikes on the market.

Grinnall are no way any comparison to a T-Rex or G2.

The G2 can generate 2G (funnily enough)... I would have thought that the back end would have started sliding long before then???

... and another thing! How do the swing-arms stand-up to the extra torsional forces applied by having two-wheels at the front? I would have thought it would be twisting like a right sod under the 'un-natural' cornering stress.

Obviously, they do work or they wouldn't be in production, but how... ???

Swing Arm

The Campagna ones are using double shockers, I know some of the copies use monoshock, the Campagna trike is very well made, but at $58,000 it bloody well should be

I was on with designing, fabricating and building one when my MNR kit came along, so until I get bored with that, it will have to stay on my back burner

Its an awesome experience in a T-Rex though, check my linky

I managed to turn the camcorder off just as he opened it up on the freeway LOL

There is no need (currently) for a reverse as 3 wheelers do MSVA not IVA.

Reverse

Its not about needing a reverse to me, why would you ever buy such a huge vehicle like this and not have a reverse?

How stupid do you look when you have to get out / off to push or pull it backwards. I know because it passes for MSVA and not IVA it is not needed, I just think if you are building a trike, make some modification or effort to fit a reverse system.

MEV at first impression is quite good, but after a look around it, its pretty over priced rubbish to me. Lot's of better models at similar prices are available.

And filming on an open road without a fully road registered vehicle just says COWBOYS to me.
