OT - MP3 to AAC file conversion for Nintendo DSi?

Trying to sort out music on no.1 son's Nintendo DSi for Xmas. All my music id in MP3 or WMA format and the DSi needs AAC format.

Paid for and downloaded the Nero converter software as promoted by Nintendo, but it will only allow you to rip/convert direct to the SD card which is a PITA.

Can anyone point me towards some conversion software (free would be good)?

Cheers
Nick

I doubt it's the best, but I've had good luck with real player. You can convert to all sorts of different formats, and it's free.

I'm not scared!!! I'm just marking my territory.

Not bloody impressed - it doesn't do AAC files conversion, it's trashed Google Chrome and plastered poxy Facepants crap everywhere.

Let's recover it and try something different

Better - it didn't bugger about with the computer on installation!

After several attempts it's converted a grand total of 3/44 tracks to AAC, the rest are "failed".

Please don't make me turn to iTunes

I love winamp, been using it since 1999 and I've never found one I like better yet

Thanks - will check out Winamp today.

Also found a plug-in for my preferred Media Monkey software that should allow AAC file conversion so trying that at present.

winamp should just be a case of selecting the files you want to convert in the playlist, then right click and say send to > 'format converter' - then pick your preferences and off you go
