Congrats to you also b3ngy, yes you're right it is a good feeling and a relief. Have you now registered you're car, was it an easy process?
I contacted Swansea when I got back, they said I need to write a letter enclosing a copy of the IVA certificate. Is this what you did as well?

Thanks Simon

Haven't registered it yet Simon. It's in progress though!

You need to request the relevant forms to register a car from the dvla. Either call them or you can request online. They will then send you a pack containing everything you need (hopefully).

I haven't received the pack yet. Tbh I didn't realise you had to request the forms otherwise I would have done it weeks ago.

Ben.

Nice one OP.

Get the forms here: https://forms.dft.gov.uk/order-dvla-forms/.

You want the V55/5 (unless you've built from all brand new parts). I know it says for used cars, but that's the one.
There's a guide to filling it in on there too.

You'll also need V627/1 built up vehicle inspection report, which you can print off yourself:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/built-up-vehicle-inspection-report

If you ring them they might send you a pack with everything in, depending on who you speak to.

You'll need to send your IAC, proof of ID and address, major receipts and whatever else it lists on the form.

Could do with a sticky on this really.

Well done dwyer, plenty of smile time once on the road. Mine passed SVA in 2006 and I still smile every time I'm out in it.

Thank you The Black Flash for the links, I have requested the V55/5 and downloaded the V627/1.

Thank you wicket, it is a graet feeling and am indeed looking forward to being on the road, reckon that will be next year
by the time it has some number plates bolted on!
