Locost Duratec - For Sale

We have decided to sell our Locost. We built this car over a 2.5 year period from 2005 and it first turned a wheel in 2008. Please see details and pictures below. If you would like further details please PM me and I'll send contact details.


Chassis
Scratch built, TIG welded ‘book’ spaceframe
Bonded and riveted aluminium panels with full length floor
MSA compliant roll bar
GAZ dampers
Live axle (English) converted to disc brakes using VW calipers
M16 front brake calipers with Mintex 1155 pads

Engine and Transmission
2.0 Duratec (Fitted 2011 – Originally built with 1.6 CVH)
Engine re-built with the following changes but otherwise standard
- Increased compression ratio
- ACL ‘Race-Series’ big-end bearings and ARP rod bolts
- Crankshaft to timing chain pulley key
Competition Fabrications stainless exhaust system with cat
Raceline wet-sump with additional anti-surge flaps
Omex 600 ECU
45mm throttle bodies (converted DCOEs)
Ford Type-9 gearbox
Fiesta ST flywheel with standard clutch housing and AP drive plate
Hydraulic concentric slave cylinder
Quaife ATB LSD

Other
ETB digi-dash
Floor-mounted, balance bar pedal box
Plumbed extinguisher - needs servicing for competition use
Yokohama A048 tyres
Spares including wishbone jigs, wheels, tyres, side impact bar, 6-point harnesses etc.

The car is road legal having passed SVA in April 2009. It has completed a total of <2500 miles. It has a valid MOT but is on a SORN currently. We also raced it in the 750 Motor Club Kit-Car championship between 2008-11. It is still eligible for this (now ‘Sports Specials Championship’) as well as other Seven-esque series.

If the attention to detail and quality appearance in these photos is anything to go by then this is an absolute bargain!

I have not seen many kit cars finished to such a neat standard at any price let alone £5500!
