Locost 7 FOR SALE

For sale is my own built Locost 7 based on the Book by Ron Champion. The majority of the built does follow the basic principle of the book but I used 1.8L PINTO engine and type 9 box out of a 1986 Ford Sierra, with a 2L twin choke Weber. It runs on a Ford Escort 1.3L back axle with Ford Cortina MK5 front uprights. The engine had done 92,000 Miles on its last MOT in the Sierra but now shows 45,116 miles in the Locost due to a different Speedo and the car has only done 500 miles since passing its SVA. It was also fitted with a new cam kit form Lucas. It has new GAZ-MATIC fully adjustable shocks all around and brand new Uniroyal 195 / 50 /15 tyres. The chassis was built as per book with slight modification to the gear box tunnel to accommodate the Type 9 box. The car passed its SVA in October 2004 in Liverpool. By a struck of luck I was given an age related plate when it was registered Nov 04.As you can see in the pictures it needs a re-spray due to the fact that my sons bike fell off its wall brackets in the garage and damaged the bonnet, since then I have lost interest in the car so its got to go. I have plenty of pictures of the build and happy to send you any more information you require. Also thrown in is a spare set of disks, front calliper seals and a starter motor amongst other bits, it must all go. Due to the cosmetic damage to the car I am only asking £2,000 but happy to negotiate a reasonable offer. For further info please send me an e-mail to tyddyn@llwydyn.freeserve.co.uk pics available in photo archive under Iwan

Thanks!!

Any ideas what the diff ratio is on that axle?
Might be interested for a BEC conversion.

Apologies for not getting back any sooner, too much Guinnes over the weekend. Watched a bit of rugby, won again!!!!

Must be the Welsh air.

As for the diff ratio I do not have a clue. The live axle was out of a T plate 1.3 Escort MKll Giha. It has no MOT and is currently on a SORN.

Thanks

Iwan
