Scimitar Dial, Lucas connector advice needed
Irony - 17/6/12 at 09:33 PM

I have bought a Scimitar warning lights dial for my kitar and I need to find out what connectors are used to wire up to the rear? I know the bevelled edge won't go through the IVA but I am intending to set it back slightly.

I think you'd need the donor Triumph Dolomite/Toledo/Stag connector. Or solder tails on to the terminals.

Don't try to blunt the rim it will just end up a mess, remember the zone behind the steering wheel is excluded from the sharp edge test so you could mount it between the tacho and speedo.

For standard 2" (52mm) gauges you can get blunted trims covers on ebay - but istr this gauge is slightly bigger.

As above - try and get the original Triumph connector. Otherwise, you could use japanese bullet connectors if the size is about correct - link.

My soldering is none to great and I have some of those chinese bullets. There a tad small but I reckon they could be opened up. Does anyone know what the original LUCAS connectors looked like?
