Engine conversion

Hi

I've just bought a locost with a xflow that is pretty tired.

Can't decide whether to go bike engine or car engine, however I am favouring a zetec conversion as it's relatively simple to do and cost effective.

Does anyone have anything for sale which might do the job?

Thanks

I recall that Zetec exhaust is the opposite side to a xflow - blacktops are the same side, only a minor consideration.

Fisher Fury was 2000 Zetec - now a 1600 (it Lives again and goes zoom)

Xflow and Zetec (E silvertop / R blacktop / ST170 “Duratec”) have the exhaust on the same side (passenger in the uk). Pinto, Duratec i4 and Zetec se/sigma have it on the opposite (drivers in the uk).

Swap? 1.8 silvertop with cams and slightly ported head. I bought off here a while ago. Currently sat in my lotus 23 project. The zetec is quite long for the car and I would like a xflow just purely for the size

Something else to consider on a CEC to CEC swap is Xflows are quite short in height compared to modern OHC motors. Also don't forget the tranny will have to change. Is it a 1300 or 1600 xflow? Russ

Yes as I understand it will be the correct side for a Zetec conversion.

It’s a 1600 crossfiow with 4 speed box.
