zzr1100 gearbox

any help please,i have i zzr1100 ,i have had the engine running but can only could get 2 gear, i have got the motor out now i have checked all the detent springs arms ect all look fine i took the gearchange shaft out it is not bent ect i put it back in, i span the output shaft to help with getting a gear ,i can now get all gears ,strange , i have noticed there is a bit of play in the gearchange arm but this is pushed in tight when the gear caseing goes on ,the one thing i did notice is if the gearchange shaft is not pushed in tight the selector claw pulls on the outside edge of the change pins if this happens it will not change easily push it in tight it changes no problems any ideas anyone, ps i am not a trader ,how do i change this on my profile.

Can you be a bit more specific?

Is this an engine in a running car?....that used to work till it broke?.......
Or is it a new(unknown) engine you're fitting as part of your build or what?

As far as Trader status, your fooked pay up trader

yes the motor has been in the car and running no problems but i could only ever get 2 nd gear,as i said i have got the motor out taken the gearcase off and now i can select every gear .
