Pinto webers

Clarification required
Which of the following Webers would be more suited to a 2.1 pinto fitted with FR32 cam
45 dcoe 152 3 progression holes or 45 dcoe 152g 4 progression holes ?

Go for the 4 progression holes

What size chokes are you fitting though ?

Does it have to be webbers?

Bike carbs are an option that can be done on a budget and give good results...

Have seen on a Australian site (Webber Performance) that they also recommend 4 progression holes to correct flat spots that can occure on acceleration
Depending on who you talk to most recommend 36 but 38 will also work with the correct jetting

Printed out Dave Andrews information on Webbers very informative but he does not touch on the best progression hole qty 3 or 4

I am running R1 carbs on a Danst manifold at the moment
These were initially set up by Russ at Torque Tune and performs ok starts first time on the choke but on low revs get spit back through carbs and the idle speed is not consistent during runs out
The engine is fully reconditioned with Kent FR32 cam (which has been timed to Kents info) and H & H electronic distributor have tried timing between 12 & 16 degrees
But most tuning centers in my area will not touch pinto,s with bike carbs and I thought that its time to change to Webbers and to give scope for further tuning in the future

Ran 36mm chokes on twin 45s and it was smooth and driveable

Think some folks go for too big a choke size chasing high bhp


Appreciate that they need some fettling but Bike carb's will probably work out cheaper than Webers ?

Not really worried about the expense just need consistency in how the engine runs
Do you have any problems starting do you use a choke or the pumping the accelerator method

I always used to use the pump the accelerator method
