Welder question ?

I have got myself a 3 in 1 nverter.

The Tig and plasma cutter use the same inlet point on the back of the machine for argon and compressed air. I didnt think it a good idea to be paying for Argon gas then pass it through a water trap and regulator so have split it of with quick release fittings.

Can anyone see a problem with that and how have others conected yours up ?

can't see there would be a problem with that, but why would passing argon through a water trap and regulator be a problem?

Hi Wasa

I think your line of thought is spot on.
Plasma or Tig arcs and water vapour are best kept apart.

You may wish to do a leak test on the q/r fittings.
Doesn't matter with air but you wouldn't want to lose any of that lovely argon.

Plasma & Tig inverters tend to get quite warm in use so I always advise that after cutting or welding
they should be left switched on for a while so the fan cools them down.

Love the welder stand. Does this mean you can only have three guests to Sunday lunch now?

During a slack spell at work I made a trolley for our Lincoln plasma. (see pic)
They are quite heavy bits of kit to carry around.

how much did it set you back? also is it any good? how thick can it cut?

I bought the "plasma only" rehmann thing, 40 cutting amps.

Its cheap and chinese and prob won't last long BUT it was £190 including delivery etc, comes with a good few consumables and makes a tidy cut in 1/2" steel!
