Garage clear-out
PSpirine - 24/10/12 at 08:02 PM

Need this stuff gone - collection only, weekday evenings or from work during the day in Gaydon.

Alternatively I can probably drop off in the Cotswolds or along the M40 between Birmingham/London.

Cash only, unless you've got Brooklands Screens, westfield seats, new black 4 point harnesses, Canon camera lenses, BMW e38 bits or Passat B5 bits

Some BMW powertrain bits - changes to transmission tunnel on my westfield would mean I have no footspace left so have gone back to Zetec + Type 9:

- BMW M42 engine. Bought as complete in working order, from a 1995 318is, but never installed or had running. Can probably find most ancillaries for it. £80

- BMW 318ti gearbox, will mate up to the above, in excellent working order, removed from a 67k mile P-reg car. £50

- Prop for above box £20

I have most other odds and sods from the 318ti like ECU, clocks etc. if you need anything. Keeping the wiring loom myself for cannibalisation.

- 4 Ford Escort Mexico/RS wheels (?) Someone will be able to confirm, but they are 13" steels, one pair slightly wider than the other (5.5" and 6" IIRC). Will take a pic when I can get up to the garage loft. All straight but need a repaint. Have tyres with tread but I wouldn't use them for anything other than rolling a build car around. £50 no offers on these as I do like the look of them and will keep them otherwise

- 4 fiesta wheels. Excellent build wheels (14" Steels) with tyres. Not much tread but did hold air last time I had them down. £10 takes them, otherwise they'll get weighed in with the next body shell.

- Sierra 7" Open diff. bog standard 3.62". £50

- Clarke belt-driven compressor, 3hp. Works fine and runs quietly, however, it needs some TLC. Bit of mayo in the tank - maybe could do with piston rings? Doesn't cut out, just bleeds off through the safety valve. Either adjustment of the pressure switch or new switch required. £50

- Giant 1920s-30s RIVETED steel air tank. Approx 150 litres at a guess. Amazing piece of old school engineering - 80psi service pressure, tested to 160psi. Was going to clean up, paint and use as a reservoir, but could use that corner of the garage for something else. Nice brass tag on it! £20

Will check condition of some other items next time I go in there and will post some more things!

Any more info on the compressor - size of tank, single phase, rough dimensions etc?

Not coming down to West point kit car show in a tin top by any chance?

Cheers,

G

I'll take some photos and get more details when in the garage probs on friday

It's 40l tank I'd say.. single phase. Not too large, on castors. Chugs away nicely but could probably do with a rebuild. I mainly use a compressor for inflating tyres so just got an Aldi jobbie

Won't be coming down to west point in anything unfortunately

Was keeping an eye out for 50ltr + ideally

Pics would be great, much appreciated
