What size tyres are you using???

I've done a search but not really found the info I was after. If anyone can give me some pointers or a link to another thread that would be great!

Im going to be using a 15x7j wheel and wanted to know what the general consensus was on tyre size??

Also, is it common practice to use a slightly wider tyre on the rear than the front e.g 205 rear, 195 front??

Car is mk hayabusa.

Thanks for any help/advice.

195/50/15 is the most common size. Keeps costs down too.

I need 15's to fit over my brakes and I think it looks better on 15s

I already have 15's. I may swap to 13's once I have some experience with the car.

Anyone else willing to share their tyre size??

Currently on 205 at the front, 225 at the back (15" wheels) but wondering if it's over-tyred - might try putting the fronts on the back and getting some 185s for the front. Then again are 205's at the back enough for 320 bhp? Really not too sure, interested to know what people recommend.

I bought 15"s when I bought the car (when I was 16) and I have 195 50 15s, hard to argue with £150 for a set of 4, however now I'm older (32 and a half) I think if I had the choice I'd go for 13s as I've grown to like the look of the small wheel/big sidewall on 7s

Also 195 50 15s fit under the cheapo front arches on ebay hahaha

195-50-15 here - 205-60-13 are the same radius and in theory have a more compliant sidewall but are almost twice the price. The higher the aspect ratio the more "forgiving" the tyre can be. I remember James Hunt used to drive an A35 as his day car as it was more fun to drive, that would have been on crossplies with an 80% tyre.

205/60 13s rear and 185/60 13s front.

I used to have 195/50 15s, but the 13s are much better.

185/60 13" on a 6J rim front
215/60 13" on a 8J rim rear.

The Avon ZZRs I use come up big and the 185 is closer to 205 while the 215 rear is 230 in section.

Thats the same as my road tyres and R888. the 888 seem a hood 15mm wider than quoted. they have square walls instead of rounded ones.

Well, looks like most people run a 13 inch wheel.

Think I'm going to keep with the 15" for now as I that is what I already have. Probably go with a 205/50 rear and a 195/50 on the front.
