Mark Cavendish the kit car fan!

Cav won stage 6 of the Giro today.

He likened his win as the team building a kit car, leaving him to start the engine!

Who knew he was a fan? I bet he can't reach the pedals!

Well done Cav! Second stage victory.

You beat me to it

Stage six winner Mark Cavendish:

"It was incredible. I'm so happy, no problems. Everyone rode till their legs couldn't go any more. I'm so happy, we're buzzing, absolutely buzzing.

"What does it feel like? Imagine you get a kit car, you build it and when you start it, you get that feeling - it's like that. It's like all the bits of an engine and I'm just the exhaust at the end, the bit that makes the most noise. That's how it feels - everything just fits together."

News to me... and I've known him since he was 17. Not spoken to him for a couple of years though. There's a few petrolheads in the GB squad; Chris Hoy raced in the support events at the Aussie GP this year and has a TVR. Jason Kenny has just started racing in a Ginetta. Matt Crampton goes drag racing with his dad in (last I heard) a supercharged Mustang.
