Can anyone do me a quick DXF drawing?

I would like to have some laser cut steel, but I need a DXF drawing. It's a simple bar with round ends and 3 circular holes as in this sketch:

If you're good with CAD, could you do me a favour and draw up my sketch please? Ta!

Sadly I don't have access to CAD software anymore or I would.

You might ask "Loggyboy" on here - IIRC he can do this kind of thing.

No problem, let me know if its not as you sketched, - but should be ok, its simple enough even for me!

I submitted the DXF for quoting. I've had 2 back. £60 and £70. The £70 guys did say that was their minimum order and that I could have 53 cut for the same price if I wanted them. Is that about right for laser cutting. Cheap enough each, but you've got to have loads done?

You don't spec the thickness, and is it only one? If its 1.6, 2 or 3 mm thick you could have made one out of 20 mm flat bar with a hacksaw, grinder or file and drill by now.

You can do it quickly. You can do it cheap. You can do it right. – Pick any two.

I asked for 3mm thick mild steel and wanted 5 of them, but that's bye the bye. The £70 guys have a £15 set up fee and charge about £1.50 each for the parts. Rather than sell me 5 for £22.50, they say £70 minimum order, you can have 53, or any quantity less than that for the minimum price.

Have a look at watercutting, generally cheaper, especially if you can provide the material

Some people fit parts into other jobs if you're not in a rush. Unfortunately I can't remember anyone who does right now.

You're paying for someone's time and skills, not the metal. Setup charges are usually the big cost on small stuff like this. They might say the set up fee is 15, but it's not, the reason the moq is there is to cover the setup.
As mentioned, you'd be better with a hacksaw and grimder if 70 quid for a custom part is too much. A laser or wj cutter will likely still need your holes opening up to the correct diam.

Do you still require this doing? I do it for a living so drop me a message and hopefully we can sort something out. Very happy to help.

I’ve just seen you’ve had this sorted, although I’ll leave the previous reply there for anyone else that searches it in the future. I have access to a plasma and laser, so if anyone does need anything please drop me a message.
