Has anyone fitted 18" wheels with 265 x 35 (Rear) & 235 x 40 (Front) to a Viento

why? it'll just ruin the handling, i'd say 15 max, I'm only runnit 13's for better handling

knew that would happen...

just fit whatever size you want, no don't have to 'conform to the norm', personally I think that will look quite nice

13” wheels bah in this day and age I think not! It's not a shopping trolly

Nope, but with my roll cage it looks like one!

as can be seen from this terrible crash - small wheels don't improve handling...

Hi Steelman…

Most Viento owners I know have fitted 17inch wheels, With the possible exception of JJG who I think is using 15 inch, and Big John whose car is just a monster.

I have 17 inch wheels

Front -- 71/2 inch wide with 205/40 tyres

Rear -- 8 inch wide with 235/40

I will change the rear to a wider tyre if I ever use up the tread on the rear, to get a little more rubber down for fast starts.

The biggest problem is getting the right offsets for the rear set of wheels.

Cant remember what mine are but I still used a 20mm spacer to position the wheel correctly.

My car is very obviously not a Viento or even remotely 7 like!!!!
However I have 18's shod with 285/40's on the rear & 245/45 front. I wouldn't recommend going to 18's simply because they (with the tyres) are much heavier I also wouldn't recommend the low profiles you're thinking of as with typical "sports car suspension" they will crash & smash thro' every pothole.
On the new car I've gone for 16's, which were very hard to source in the widths & with the tyre sizes i wanted, but I think it will be worth it as they are miles lighter.

Hi all

7 x 17 with 205 x 40 front and 8.5 x 17 with 235 x 40 on the back.. Had to go split rims to get the right offsets.

Hi there

I have also fitted 15 inch rims on my Viento. I have used standard sierra offset for fronts and had Zero offset for the rears. (fitted with TOYO proxes)
wheels are Compomotives and the rears can be made to any offset as they are made to order
cheers
