Perforated tube
Andy D - 25/6/08 at 09:14 PM

My sons car exhaust silencer (repackable)has a broken inner perforated tube, Its 30" long, and fits over 2.5" stub pipes inside the box.
Is there anywhere in the North east where I could get a replacement? Or any mail order type scources?
Should think I'd get one from Simpsons or Wunoff if all else fails..

Hmm, most of the pipes available are 2.5" o/d, they wouldn't slip over a 2.5" o/d pipe. Cant find a local supplier, so its looking like a job for an exhaust specialist.

Thanks for the replies, open to any other suggetions.

I used the Milner 2.5" perf tube when I made a silencer recently. I made end joint sleeves by slitting some 2.5" tube and opening it up to fit over the tube.
As its perforated the gap didn't matter. Could you do something similar?

Yes, allready thought of doing something like that, if all else fails. Perhaps a jubilee clip or two to keep it all tight.
