BEC Clutch Upgrade
chrisbmxr - 30/4/18 at 10:03 AM

Hi all,

As mentioned in some of my previous posts I am looking to replace the clutch on my 919cc Blade engine Indy, and I was wondering about upgrading. I have heard good things about Barnett clutches ... do they make much difference over standard replacements? Is this the set I need?

http://www.moorespeedracing.co.uk/honda-barnett-clutch-kits/301-35-10007x9.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIgMuKjNvQ2gIVCJ3tCh0zfw83EAQYAyABEgIxofD_BwE

Has anyone sourced any upgraded clutch springs? I can't find any for this engine on Moore Speed.

Thanks for your help, as always!!!

Chris

Pretty sure people have had issues with kevlar plates.
If you type in 'cbr900 barnett springs' on ebay there are plenty on there
Also EBC ones too.

If you have a slippage problem, then i'd go for uprated springs and standard clutch friction plates
If its just an upgrade then just put some uprated springs in,unless your looking for excuses to spend!

Agree with ReMan , just try updated springs first, Barnett are the best😎

I upgraded my ZX9 springs and it was just pointless. I ended up taking them off again because they were putting too much strain on the cable and centre spindle thing which was wearing. If you change the plates make sure you orientated the new ones the correct way as I feel it made my changes more smoother.
