Is there any body on here that fabricates their own tubular manifolds or does it as a job? I've made a few very basic manifolds for my own use to get around tight engine installs mostly from 'lobster back' cuts but they look a little rough. Having spent hours of faffing with 100's of sections I'm looking at buying in pre bent U's and cutting with a bandsaw, are the Tricktools plastic manifold kits any good at reducing time or is the process just as long making it in tube from the start?

I used trial and error, bent sections of tube with extras ordered I think I spent 200 pounds.

Kind of therapeutic. I think the Tricktools manifold is a good idea if your fabbing up a lot of different types

Made this for a hayabusa, stainless bends from eBay, TIG welded with a back purge and sanded all smooth. All of equal length to within an inch if I recall correctly. Trial and error

Most I know use Infinity near Tormarton(M4) They have someone to laser cut the manifold plates and they fab the pipework to your spec. All in stainless and very nice work.

Have a look at pepper Performance, they do 4-1 and 4-2-1 wild yourself kits for most of the common engines for seven type vehicles. IIRC this is owned/run by one of the Ashley clan.

Made mine from eBay bends, back gas and tig welded, could have smoothed off and polished but could not be bothered. Plenty of people selling bends, I would not gear up in hope they come across you.

I was able to get a 20% discount when I purchased 9 X 90 degree mandal bends.

If you need to make repeatable systems then make a jig from 25mm box and optimise your stock

Probably not what you want to hear, but this is Locost so.... I went to a local exhaust fitting place and raided their bin for all sorts of lengths and bends of pipe. Cost nothing. Cut it up to fit when I got home using the original flange then welded up my own system. Didn't look too bad but I wrapped it and cost = nothing except the wrap, ties and weld. I did get a weld in CAT from ebay and a stainless box via ebay (well known place in walsall, name forgotten at the mo ) so real total cost was about £120
