Wtd: T25 Turbocharger

As title.

I think i may have blown my second hand (Suspect anyway) turbo bearings. Does anyone have (or can get hold of) a T25 turbo? Preferrably from a renault 21 but anything of a similar size will do. Failing this, its a new £300 (upgrade) job from the states.

Kindest Regards,
Richard.

I have switched it out for a supercharger

I have a 2.2 renault engine in the kit car, which ive fitted a turbo to. IT works VERY well, but the bearings are shot.
It probably was a popular upgrade for the R5, but ive never had one so not sure.

200SX as well.

Can you just not get a bearing kit off ebay for about £50 and see if it'll do the job?

I could, but im looking at cheap alternatives as its a prototype at the moment. Stripping it completely will be a last resort, where ill clean everything thoroughly and build it to last.

Sounds good. With fear of offending (and a limited budget) id be interesting to hear what you thought was a reasonable offer once ive seen the pics. - Drop me a U2U or Email with the pics and we'll sort it out away from the forum.

Cheers.

td04 is the same as the garret t3 , so IIRC it will fit the t25 , but not the 3 bolt flange of the t28 .

any number of the volvos have td04 .

940 - 13c
850 - 15g
s70 - 16t-19t
c70 - 18t

etc etc .

ive got t3 flanges off the shelf for a couple of quid , but i think you wont need it .

some pics of the unit.....i had a t3 off of an rs turbo that i once used to turbo charge a zeetec...i remember the inlet flange was a 4 stud square flange and the outlet was bolted to a cast elbow, so they may be the same??

Thanks fellas, a big help.

Is it possible to unbolt and rotate each of the housings to the correct orientation? The one above for example, would have the oil inlet and outlets horizontal if i mounted it to the existing manifold.

The other option of course, is to make an elbow for the manifold, but i want to keep things simple.

Ive found a replacement, courtesy of Boggle, and have my eye on the new replacement next year once the tests are complete....

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Super-T70-T3-Turbo-Charger-4-70-AR-Stage-IV-35psi_W0QQitemZ130314135082QQihZ003QQcategoryZ72205QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286.m7Q Q_trkparmsZalgo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D2%26ps%3D6

This would be my opportunity for Megasquirt and an engine rebuild.

I'd be very warey of a "china charger".

Better with a 2nd hand unit off ebay.

200sx go for less than £50 on ebay sometimes.

And yes, either end can be rotated to any angle - just the middle you have to keep vertical with the oil drain underneath.
