New Track Day Concept - Snetterton 13th Feb

I've got pretty fed up with lining trackday organisers pockets and queuing for the privilege of getting on circuit so myself and two other locost owning friends have set up a new concept - non profit trackdays at mates rates. We have stumped up a lot of cash and booked Snetterton on Monday 13th February 2017 for our own trackday.

MotorSport Vision themselves suggest 80 cars for a relatively queue free day as it's 45 cars on track at a time. We have capped our day at just 60 cars and the cost for this open pitlane full day is just £129. If we fill all 60 spaces we will also be giving £10 cashback at sign on, making it just £119.

Additional drivers are £20, Passengers £5 and Garages £20 - all a lot cheaper than other trackdays.

We've got several spaces sold already including 6 locosts signed on from 1300cc Xflow ex 750mc racers to a stage 5 Dunnel Zetec engined monster.

As the 3 of us are locosters at heart, we are hoping the locost communuity can come together and support this day which will be the first of many, bringing trackday costs down whilst ensuring maximum track time with no queuing.

The site is all up and running, as is our Facebook page, please pop over and give us a like if you can and share with your fellow petrolhead friends.

Hope to see a few of my fellow Locosters there for an epic day!

Steve.

Sadly too far for me and doing 3 TDs in 3 months would be pushing it!
But will certainly promote the idea and link..
Good luck with the venture

Well, I think I can say a huge thanks on behalf of everyone for having the balls to do this - sounds great!

Sadly I can't make this date but will be keeping an eye out for future ones...

Best of luck with it all

A great idea but not new. Franks been doing this for some time at Blyton Park. Might be worth asking him for some advice on the pitfalls. I know there can be a problem with people using the event for commercial gain but its a great way to keep the cost down

I'd say there are fair few differences, mainly Franks are for profit, albeit towards charity, only at blyton (so far) and assuming these guys want to expand, I don't think Frank has plans to do more than a few a year or explore multiple venues etc.

Sounds like a good idea.

Snetterton is too far away for me, but I will watch out for other venues.

Hi Tim, Its 105db static. There is the usual snetterton driveby which is I think 92, at 20metres so twice the distance of most other places.

What cars will be allowed on circuit? Any chance of getting a little 600cc single seater out?

Open wheels, no. Put some mudguards on and you should be fine, happy to check with MSV for you. Did Goodwood last week and my friend ran this on track no issues.

Open wheeled bike engine grasstrack racer with mudguards fitted.

I assumed similar when taking the Clio to Silverstone, but in fact, carrying more speed out of bends, and breaking later than most of the 'bigboys' meant the straights didnt seem anywhere near as long as i thought!
