Thanks for the replies. It is for a blacktop with plastic housing, temp gauge sender Caterham gauges.

So, it depends... Ive got two blacktops.. one has just the ecu one top of the thermo.. the other has one on top of the thermo, (ECU) one underneath and one in the heater output...

Most gauges have there own matched sensor. Very few gauges are matched to the donor sensor.
