Hazard tell tale - flashing out of sync with lights

So I forgot to fit a tell tale to my hazard circuit. Need one for IVA with the minimum of changes to the wiring which is otherwise completed.

The easiest way to tap into the circuit is to fit an LED which is fed by the hazard switch.

My switch is only fed a constant 12V, but found these nifty LEDs, which flash automatically (at 3Hz) when you feed them a constant 12V...

This would be easy to wire up, but means the tell tale will flash out of sync with the hazards.

Is that likely to satisfy the IVA inspector? Apologies if that seems like a bit of a silly question. In principle, I can't see the issue, but on this basis a static, constantly on LED would also be permitted, and I've never seen that arrangement on a vehicle before.

Do your dash indicators not flash when the hazards are on?

if you can see the front indicators when seated a warning light isnt needed.

Note 1: A tell tale is not required if the front indicators are
directly clearly visible to the driver.

Not sure of your build type, but most open kits would achieve this.

I'm using the ETB Digidash Adi, so there's no tell tale without the ignition on. This is what caught me out.

It's a Fury I'm building, so sadly I can't see the indicators from the driver's seat.

Think I'm going to chance it with the un-synchronised flashing LED. Saves me opening up the loom and having to fit diodes.

Flashing out of time won't be an issue but does it flash at the right rate? That might be an issue.

It flashes at 3Hz whereas I believe most indicator flashers are 1-2Hz, so it would be noticeably quicker than the hazard lights themselves.

I've had a good search of the manual and I can't see any rule which states the hazard tell tale and hazard lights must flash at the same rate.

I can't even see any rule requiring the tell tale to be of a flashing type, however the MOT rules do require this.

Think it should therefore be ok.
