I had the same problem with my xflow. Would rev easily when in neutral but as soon as it was under load the engine would stall. It turned out to be the floats were incorrectly set in the carb.

Check vacuum AND auto advance , just sucking on vacuum advance pipe should increase revs slightly Auto advance mechanism can sieze and not advance timing as needed.Check by shining timing light at timing marks with vacuum advance disconnected and raise engine revs , timing should advance . ( move further away from TDC mark) Vacuum advance can be checked by opening throttle quickly , timing should advance quicker than without vacuum connected. Check valve timing just in case?

Vac advance is a economy device to improve light load fuel consumption it only works off load --- you can take it off completely and it won't alter the performance with the loud pedal down, because only works under condition of high vacuum --- ie with the throttle almost closed.

Sticking centrafugal advance is different matter it will affect pick-up. Fixing it is just a matter oil a drop of 3 in 1 in the right place.

However everthing points to a fuel problem most like either fuel supply problem ie blocked pipe or duff fuel pump or blocked main jet or float level set too low.
