Torque up bolts on an engine stand

Bought a 500kg engine stand. Onto torquing up the main crank bearing caps on the bottom end.
Bottom end with crank is only on the stand - weigh's around 25-30kg

The torque setting for the bolts are 65NM + 90 degrees.

Must be up to around 45nm and feels like it's gunna rip engine off the stand lol.

It's this the usual way to assemble the engine.

Sounds about right, they are good for cleaning engines, turning upside down and bolting on the covers.

Not good for anything that requires a bit of leverage I am afraid as they dance and roll about.

If you’ve got the stand bolted to the engine mount holes in the side of the engine then yes’s youll be twisting the mount.
If you have the stand bolted to the flywheel end you can put a lot of torque longetudelly down the block.
I’ve done 125ft/lbs easilliy

Been doing a Zetec on an old machine mart one today. It’s great, a bit of a pain trying to counter act it moving but it’s much better than doing one on the floor.

I’ve also got a Rv8 on a cheap eBay stand and it doesn’t look to clever, I don’t trust it at all.
