The ford kuga is available in 4wd. Anyone any ideas what rear diff they use?

Just wondering if ford have started producing another diff that will be available for kit cars in the future.

(or even started reproducing a diff used lots in the kit car world making more parts available)

Doubt it would take the torque, most of these soft-roaders don't send much drive to the rear. Probably OK for a BEC, but not for a man's engine.

Main engine is the 2.0 TDCI and it takes up to 50% of the torque (10% under normal driving). The other engines they sell with it are the 2.5 v6 and the 5 cylinder turbo from the RS. Should be able to take some torque.

If it is weedy then it will be idea for bec's.

Ah, fair enough. The only similar vehicle I've seen the diff from is an X-trail and that looks puny as hell.

I thought (from a very very brief) read that the hydrex unit was in the centre diff, not the rear diff.

my guess is that its the same rear axle as the x-type jag, seeing as it uses the same engine and gearbox option
