Help Needed:- Peugeot 206 Dipped Head lights not working (Only Dipped)
Steve Hignett - 30/6/15 at 12:48 PM

Hi All,

So, my first post in a LONG time and it's to ask for help!

Quite some time ago my wife's 206 CC 2.0L Peugeot's dipped beam headlights stopped working.

I changed the bulb as I thought it was just one of them at first!
Both the main beam and sidelights work fine.

If you search Google for the problem as I have done several times, it appears you get lots of people talking about it, so it's a common(ish) problem, but I can't seem to find a decent solution/answer...

Does anyone have any similar past experiences - for eg, changing the dipped beam relay and where exactly that one is on my car???

thanks in advance,

I need to sort it as I'm selling the car, and I'd rather make sure everything worked and not tell a pack of lies about it!!

thanks,
Steve

Not sure if any help. But my french reno 5 had an inline resistor for low beams that operated a dipped circuit with the sidelights and ignition on. If yours is the same setup maybe the huge resistor has popped? Mine was in the scuttle area and the size of an Aa battery.

Could be the switch?

Have you got a wiring diagram for it?

Chris

No Wiring Diag, I'm afraid...

Moorron, I've read something similar to that, but failed to find something fitting the description.. Will have another look..

Thanks for suggestion!

What year, Steve. I'll have a look on Autodata for you.

Can't find relay numbers on Autodata for that model but the wiring diagram has iit shown in Fuse/relay box1 in the engine bay. It works dip and head. The dip beams are seperatly fued to each other (fuses9=10, same fuse box) so unlikly to be that.
