Since upgrading my engine last year to a Duratec I've wanted to paint the horrible plastic cam cover.
So my question is what to paint it with? I'm assuming the plastic and heat brings up a few problems.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I cant imagine it getting hot enough to need anything more than a good quality primer and top coat.

But normal stuff should be fine, if the plastic lasts then decent paint should

I used this with great results on my blacktop cover, it is supposed to permeate and effectively dye the plastic...

I've used vht wrinkle finish rattle cans in the past to good effect.

Cheers for the replies, so probably nothing that clever required.

Some plastics require a product to improve adhesion.
In spanish "promotor de Adherencia" translated to adhesion promoter or enhancer.
Don't have any idea of the correct name for you guys.

Doesn't need to be high temp at all. Clean it well, spray with etch primer and then whatever colour you fancy.

Alternatively you could use an aluminium cover from the early Duratecs.
