I'm about to put a silver top in my locost and one of the jobs to sort is the fan belt would anyone have some pics of their alternator bracket and tensioner/idler pulley setup?

My email is mark.bishell@yahoo.com

Any help would be greatly appreciated

That looks great thank you

Is yours a black top as you have a ribbed pulley on the water pump where mine has a smooth pulley?

Am I correct in thinking silver and black top water pumps go in opposite directions?

Is there a part number on your belt by any chance??

Thanks again

it's a silver top, I have a spare water pump, it has the same ribbed pulley.

I recall there being posts about the pumps running in different directions.

I may have some pictures somewhere,...

I may have a black top pulley then and if that's the case it will make life a lot easier

I don't suppose you could look to see if your belt has a part number on it if you don't mind it would be greatly appreciated

The blacktop pulley wont fit the silvertop so you wont have one of them.

If it has the smooth pulley you either need the escort / fiesta water pump and pulley or an idler arrangement to run the pump the other way.

When done just measure it (in mm) with some string and buy the nearest you can find with the pulley pattern you need.

So in Halfords you would be looking for xxx6pk
