Get data from ETB Digidash2 Lite into RaceChrono Pro

Hi all,

In preparation for what I expect will be my first track day, in November (if I manage to finish my last bits before then), I bought the RaceChrono Pro version for my Android phone.

On the Aries Locoblade I have an ETB Digidash2 Lite. As far as I know, it does not have a OTB2 interface. And since I have the "lite" version, I don't have a datalogger.

Does anyone knows how if it is possible to get data from ETB Digidash2 Lite into RaceChrono Pro? I would like mainly RPM, gear, maybe oil pressure. The idea would be to overlay that data on the captured video.

Kind of related with this question, if anyone knows how to overlay the g-forces on the video (I can only see them on the lines graphic) I would love to learn how

Thank you for any help. Kind regards,
HappyFather

If you load up RaceRender on to your pc and export files from RaceChrono in the RaceReder format it almost happens automatically. You have to set up the G forces and track displays but that is not difficult. You might want to invest in BlueStacks as well so you can view RaceChrono on your PC.

If the plan is to combine the data in a video then getting it into racechrono isnt really necessary. As above, get Race render, well worth the £25-30 for the full version. This will allow you to import video, and multiple data sources from racechrono and the digidash and display and manipulate them.

To get any meaningful (0.1Hz) results I use:

http://racing.qstarz.com/index.html

Which doesn't need to be used with RaceChrono but I get all my split times from RaceChrono. The RaceRender is just to show my friends.

If you haven't got the data logger probably not. I have digidash 1 which has data logger built in and you can only download afterwards not in real time.

Download afterwards is ok provided it is in csv format (comma separated variable). The RaceRender files is in csv format(from memory) so you can probably merge the two files.

Yes but OP has DD2 Lite so no logs to download (think it may log 10 minutes of ONE parameter in Lite form but that's it).

Thank you all for the answers.

I was hoping/wondering if there was something like ODB2 interface for the DD2 Lite. As it was said, the Lite does not record more than 10m of data.

And since my purpose would be just to make some videos to display on YouTube, I can't justify the investment on the data logger for the DD2.

I'm not inclined (at least for now) to have to merge stuff with RaceRender. The main reason I bought the RaceChrono Plus instead of using the free RaceChrono was because I wanted the video with overlays out of the box. Do it all on the mobile and upload from there. Maybe just having the speed overlaid is something that will be enhanced later. Let's see.

I'll post back if I find additional relevant information, since it seems I'm not the only one that would like the G's overlaid out-of-the-box and DD2 data (like the RPM).

Once again thanks to all!

You can use the camera in your mobile phone to record your event and in the Pro version of RaceChrono it automatically integrates and displays both on your phone afterwards. If you then install BlueStacks you can view it all on your pc. They also support overlaid MP4 so you can upload to Youtube straight from your phone if you want to. As far as I know they don't display G forces (yet). Is that not 90% of what you want?
