Lagos Kwik Fit
Check the Lagos branch of Kwik Fit, just on the corner outside my office. In fact there seems to be branch on most street corners here.

Why do they call Port Harcourt "The Garden City"?...... Becauase they can't spell Stramash.

Those places are a goldmine, I sent one of them £5000 for 1/2 share in the business last month, just waiting on my monthly 20k return

We have exhaust shops like that as well - their insurance overheads are low as they run when your car catches fire. Their standard special is one pipe
and silencer fits all.

No method to balance the wheels either, not much point anyway as the weights will just fall off with all the potholes.
At least the guy is making some money. Gotta love these guys, setting up a wee business on a street corner.

So when the exhaust place want to weld something do they just shimmy up the leccy pole with two crocodile clips!!!

Does lagos still have the odd/even number plate system running. When I was there in the 80's you could drive on every other day with odd and
even number plates, problem was all of the expats and miderately wealthy Nigerians had two cars, one odd and one even and yellow taxis were exempt
which seemed to account for 75% of the traffic.

I had heard of that system, but it's long gone, traffic a total nightmare in Lagos and Port Harcourt with all the islands/bridges plus state of
the roads and vehicles. There are no MOT's for any vehicles so you can imagine! Same as most places in Africa. Interesting place though.

Must admit the system never worked because 70% of the traffic/users were either exempt or has a work around. As you say, very interesting place
(lucky enough to get invited to a local tribe chief making ceremony, that was an experience), I visited there as my dad worked there for 18 months in
the 1980's and we left just as it was about to get a bit sketchy but I think it has calmed down a bit in recent years.
