what good magazines are there that covers old pickup's

Depends on what pick up it is, and you're planning to do to it.
If it's a 4x4 that you're planning to off road, then Petersen's Off reader and four wheel drive, or Four Wheeler.
If it's a 2wd that you're going to hot rod, then I'd just go for the hot rod magazines, mainly because the specialised pick up only
magazines are a bit poor on technical detail, and information.

I always find www.americanautomags.com useful for finding those niche yank mags and books.
