VW Touran 1.9TDI engine oil?

Afternoon all,

I need to service SWMBO's 57 plate 1.9TDI VW Touran. Googling throws up a VW spec of 504/507 with a number of different brands. I'm visiting my local dealer tomorrow to pick up an interior light lens and will ask them, but wondered if any of you can help beforehand.

It's a 1.9 TDI engine with 105 BHP and no DPF. Current mileage is at 89k.

507.00 at one stage VW were introducing new oil specs almost yearly but as far as I know 507.00 is currently universal for VAG diesel built since 2000.

504.00 is for petrol engines

The suffix numbers after the decimal are important

Thanks both of you!

Craig - your link throws up Castrol Edge Titanium 5w-30 LL FST Fully Synthetic Car Engine Oil, which meets the VW 504 and 507 specs. The price is OK and will be used with an OEM VW oil filter when used. I searched using the VRM.

ETA...maybe of interest, but I plan to change the oil and filter annually at approx. 10k mile intervals. Whilst the car is not made of gold we do want it to last a while yet.
