Lydden Track Day 2nd August
mcg - 26/6/14 at 01:44 PM

Hiya - not done a track day in a while and need to give my F27 a run out with its new red top in. Whats Lydden like to do for a track day? Anyone planning on going?

Cheers

Matt

It's fine but is very short.

I did my first track day there and thoroughly enjoyed it.

They normally do 15 minute sessions with Novice, intermediate and advanced levels.

Personally I prefer air field days, like Abingdon, but Lyddon is well worth it.

A great little track. Very short, less than a mile. Pretty much all right handers but of very different speeds and difficulties so is entertaining. I have had hit and miss experiences regarding the type of driver there. I was unfortunate enough to have to share my sessions with a bunch of to$$ers all in a Golf driving club. They thought it was a race meeting and were undertaking, overtaking and driving well off track limits and therefore spitting up stones at other cars. Clark of course did not give two hoots. Its VERY relaxed. No noise limit testing and quite a nice friendly pit as there are no garages, no designated parking or layout and the power supplies need to be shared.

I didnt think Lydden were doing many car days this year, their web site is shocking so where did you find this date? I might come and do this with you. If you dont mind me inviting myself along!!

Will be interested if anyone else is up for this?

Point me in the right direction and I will get booked up.

I'd like to see where you found it too - quite fancy a run out in the MX5 if it's not silly expensive.

that seems to suggest it is 40% dirt! It does not have many details like cost or sessioned / open pit.

As I said before, their website is shocking.

Love a bit of gravel!

Ok, I am up for this. I have found the day on trackdays.co.uk (best one stop shop for finding track days I think).

http://www.trackdays.co.uk/book/cartrackday/7800/

States it is full circuit, so no funny gravel. I am going to call Lydden tomorrow to double confirm. £150 all day.

I am going to get booked on tomorrow and a friend of mine is bringing his supercharged MX5 for its first sniff at track.

Anyone else fancy a go?
