I have been meaning to post this for a couple of weeks. My Striker has now made it off the chassis stands and onto its wheels for the first time

Its taken 2 months longer than I planned to get to this stage but I am very happy with the fit and finish of it all now and on this build nothing is done unless its done well

You can't see in the picture but all the rear suspension, brakes and driveline are finished and fitted. Only thing to finish off the brakes is to make some adapters to take the fluid reservoirs and then I can fill it with fluid.

Next I am going to tackle the fuel tank, the manual is 'thin' on how to do this so any tips and hints (including pictures) of what others have done would help. I also want to improve the sump on the tank, currently its tiny so I am going to get a new one welded on....so this weekend I will mainly be making cardboard models of the new sump

Just read the assembly manual and I have realised my tank looks different to the one they fit so 90% of it is not applicable. The the last bit on fitting the tank is a cracker........

Finally, after removing and trial fitting the petrol tank over several evenings, fit it and walk away.

Now the basic Striker package costs £12k+ (mine is has cost me a little less than this and includes a Duratec with Omex ECU, BGH box, Quaife diff, Dash2 Pro and a few other nice things but that's because I hunt out the bargains ), and this is the quality of the manual

I will now ignore the manual and carry on making it up as i go along which seems to be the norm for most Sylva designed builds!

Looking good. If you can get that spec of car completed for less than £12k you will have a very special car and on of the more economic builds around especially when compared to a westie (approx £15 at a guess) and a caterham (£20k+) with a similar spec. The raw will out perform both of those I suspect as well. Good luck with the telepathy to Raw in interpreting the manual.
