ZZR1400 clutch cylinder bore size ?
Erazor - 29/5/21 at 08:29 PM

Hi Guys,

First post. I have put a Kawa ZZR 1400 engine in my Bond Bug and need to connect the clutch. How do I get the correct size of reservoir, bore wise to suit the Kawa. What did you guys fit in a kit car with a Kawa engine or other bike engines that are hydraulic ??

Any advice would be great.

I think folks commonly use the bike rear brake master cylinder. Think it might be 13mm. If you're looking for car master then 1/2". I've seen a couple with 5/8" master on BUSA motors and they've needed a pedal stop fitting to prevent overthrow of the slave.

First post, stunning project.
With a 3 wheel car your compromised on braking due to 1 wheel but you know that, bias pedal box would give some much needed adjustment.

Just looked up bias boxes, thanks for info

Hi, I think i've spoken with you on Pistonheads B4, unless there are 2 of these!

use the ZZR1100 master cylinder with the ZZR1400, old ZX10 is also identical, may be the same as ZX9R, but unsure of that - there is a reason which escapes me why using the ZZR1400 clutch master isn't great - IIRC it may be the way it's integrated into the handlebar lever & housing

Oli at Furoreproducts can make up any braided hoses you need

Looks like I have found what I need. Balancing bar will work well with rear discs and front drum and have different bore sizes on the master cylinders.

The pedal boxes also have an adjustable clutch stop which prevents over stroking.

Perhaps because the zzr1400 master cylinder sits at 90 degrees to the bars, rather than parallel??
