help identifying gearbox

Hi all im planning on removing my gearbox today to paint it and renew the oil seals as its leaking into the bell housing. Also hoping to buy a quickshift for it.The gear box is out of a 1.3 escort on an old s reg any ideas what type box it will be

Did they call it a Type 4? It's going to be your standard issue 4 speed Ford box beloved of all smallish RWD Fords in the 70s and still pretty popular in older Caterham circles. Better ratios than the Type 9 apparently. Anyway, you'll know when you get it out!
