Hi Guys,

I've got a 2.0 blacktop zetec that i've put onto my type 9.
I also have a 1.6 CVH in the garage.

I have read some stuff that suggests that the CVH clutch/fly setup might be better.

Basically, does this fit as a direct replacement (i think i just need to drill the fly holes slightly larger) and is it beneficial over the zetec setup?

Isnt it the 1.8 sierra clutch that can be used? very different to the FWD CVH set up IIRC.

Usual route is to use a 1.8 zetec flywheel, it is lighter.

The cvh flywheel doesnt have the crank sensor drillings so youll need a seperate trigger wheel.

I have a 1.8 CVH fly on my Zetec which doesn't have crank sensor drillings so I used the 1.8 cvh front trigger wheel, so if the 1.6 cvh fits then the drillings aren't a major issue.

I'm fairly sure some of the later Sierras had 1.6 cvh engines but nor sure if the fly is the same as an Escort cvh.

The good thing about the cvh flywheels is they are way lighter than Zetec ones.

Ah ok, i read something about the EFi engines having trigger wheels on the back already, which i thought was the CVH engine unless i'm obviously going nuts!

I think you are probably right but it was the later 1.6 cvh Sierras that had the trigger on the flywheel. Not sure about others.

Actually, now that i've written that, as i have a dirty carburetor on top of my engine, i guess it's not an EFi anyway.....
