Hello again!

Well hello again from me, I built my locost back around 2002, moved on a bit since then, I sold it in about 2005/6

I'm now looking to one again building a new project, but I'm not up to speed with the can and can nots

I was thinking this time of something bike engined, tiger Avon maybe

Any advice would be appreciated

I'm a steel fabricator now, but I was building engines and rolling road tuning back in the day

Regards all

John

Same old rubbish, nothing has changed in the last few years apart from the price of crumbling sierras and non existance of escorts, however mx5's make better single donors and are pennies relatively for what you get.

I was thinking of an mx5 based car, who know all there is to know about the Avon chassis on here?

Midlana is a locost Mazda mx5 based car that takes any fwd setup you want. Some very cheap powerful fwd cars out there.

There's no kit so its another scratch build if you fancy that.

I am looking to scratch build, is there a book available? Looks good, I do like the seven shape but this looks interesting

You can get the book here..

http://www.lulu.com/gb/en/shop/kurt-bilinski/midlana/paperback/product-21342741.html

There are some discounts around, sure Kurt will be along soon. If you search his username kb58 you can see all his posts and build pictures for midlana.

There's also a forum with some UK bulders that can also be found here on lcb.

I'm keen to get started but looking for some new premises first and the small problem of a jago rebuild that I've lost all enthusiasm for in the garage ATM.

Good luck,
Steve

I like the look of the Midlana, particularly that it is different.

I have wondered what the weight distribution is like front to rear.
