Gave the car a birthday today...

It's been a while since I gave the car a proper wash & polish - probably early last year (I built this car to drive, not admire!).

I took the car out a couple of days ago, and the nearside rear wing ended up mud-brown instead of yellow. So I decided it needed a wash... then I decided to polish the GRP bits... then I thought that the ali hadn't been given a proper polish for ages... then the glass got properly cleaned... then the interior...

So, what was meant to be a 15-minute rinse turned into a 2-hour full valet! And polishing ali in full sun is a challenge to the eyes...

Glad I've done it though.

Some people just have too much time on their hands ! Taxed mine yesterday and was going to go to work in it tomorrow but remembered the charge warning light was a bit reluctant to go out the last time it was used so I checked the charging rate only to find it wasn't! Got the old one off , hope to get the new one tomorrow.
PS my rear end is as shiny as yours

Mine's had a birthday too.

With all the new clutch bits fitted all that remained was an oil and filter change and a flush and fill of water & anti freeze.

As a test run I drove down to the local pharmacy to get next months supply of medication.

The boot was only just big enough.

Cheers
Paul G

I wouldn't say it was a waste of time. I enjoy detailing my cars. Kind of therapeutic. And it protects the paint from all the crap on the road and in the air.

When I see a nearly new car covered in swirl marks from poor cleaning it really does make me cringe!! Plus once mine has had its wax coat it's a piece off pee to clean.
