Bicycle rack on a Seven - Part 2

I raided my local very helpfull Thule fitment center and took away some bits from their "scrap/obsolete" pile.

here is the result........

I did a test run and it seems quite stable. The bike weighs about the same as the spare wheel that was on the mount originally. The bike wheels stick out about 6” either side so need to be aware of the extra width. I think I will remove the bike seat for less “windage”.

Other bike carriers have the front wheel removed and fixed alongside, perhaps that might reduce your width a little bit? Although now I've just noticed the bike is actually say on it's wheels...

Seems a pretty neat solution to me, with minimal effort too by the look of it.

looks tidy!

I had mine on the mk once, I lashed a bit of plank between the front and rear roll bars, tied the handle bars to the front roll bar and tied the seat down to the plank at the rear, worked a treat!

the cage works well for kayaks too

A few welding skills allowed me to reuse the thule rack from the SHMBO's car.

Some roads are too narrow/rough.

My 7 won't do this.

*I* wouldn't do this! And I'm a fairly adventurous soul!
