Plumbing in a radiator

Why can you not use stainless braided hoses to plumb in a radiator to a central heating system?

They aren't designed for central heating. Constant heat, pressure and they look like a bodge. Could be restrictive on the system too

Why would you want to?

I fitted a couple of enormous industrial flexies between a heatpump unit and building to reduce vibrations but they were damn expensive and designed for the job!

Look a lot nicer to use some shiny copper pipe for internal rads

Spit flex conduit put over the pipes improves the appearance of the pipes these days you can get all sorts of colours.

I can see why flexi would be useful, as you could lie the radiator down for decorating or even cleaning behind it, but having a lockshield with a built in drain is almost as good.

You actually can use flexis on radiators. I don't know if they are any different from normal flexis, but they are supplied with kickspace radiators, so that you can install and remove them without disassembling the cupboard above.
