Street Pies
mookaloid - 21/7/14 at 09:02 PM

Found some of these in the freezer in my local convenience store

http://www.street-pie.com/

4.5 mins in the microwave and yum - pretty damn good stuff (beef adobo flavour rocks)

coozer - 21/7/14 at 09:11 PM

Who ate all the pies?

Can't find any, everywhere sold out!

Was it the Coop next door?

mmm pies Interesting
Website doesn't do it much justice from a where to buy though

Scuzzle - 21/7/14 at 09:42 PM

I'm fierce hungry now, where do you get these, first I've seen them.

mookaloid - 21/7/14 at 09:56 PM

I got them at the petrol station in Aiskew, Bedale.

It a new shop and as far as I can see it has no branding so its not a Co-op or anything.

hunt them down though chaps - you wont regret it

I am contractually obliged to suggest that you can do a lot better.

I'm guessing he's either from Wigan or he owns a pie shop

Ok, here's what I'm going to do: I will send 12 of the best pies you've ever eaten to the first person who works it out.

Two clues:
1. "We had a close shave when preparing the landing strip for the summer of sport."
2. Wearing a racing balaclava to work is fine.

Here's the rules:
A. You can't play if you know me (sorry Lyn.)
B. You have to promise that you won't microwave my pastry - it's only the E-numbers and/or other non-traditional ingredients that let you do it and we don't use them!

Okay - pretty close to solving the first clue and the geographical side.

Prize is worth c.£50 so worth having.

Winner! Yes - and I'm very proud of what we make. The choice of the Brazilian appearance was not mine!

U2U me with a daytime-delivery address.

Are they ok to put in the freezer?? Reason I ask is I am in the desert in the United Arab Emirates for the next few weeks and I want to taste them at their best.

Just checked the website and they do freeze well, top banana.

Yep - no problem with freezing!

fesycresy - 22/7/14 at 10:26 AM

Why are you talking about pies at 11am? I'm sat here, stomach thinks my throat is cut and I've got a mouth like an Arab's dap.

Fcuk it, off to the shops to get one of these:

If my car wasn't in for a service I'd pop over and pig out with you, a few 'deerstalkers' and 'kate & sidney's' should do the trick

mookaloid - 22/7/14 at 10:30 AM

I think I've seen those in Waitrose. I think I'll pop over on my way home and get a couple.

Pie n mash for tea

chrisxr2 - 22/7/14 at 10:31 AM

To be fair it's 1400 my time.

jeffw - 22/7/14 at 11:04 AM

sdh2903 - 22/7/14 at 11:30 AM

stevebubs - 22/7/14 at 07:18 PM

mookaloid - 22/7/14 at 07:48 PM

well these are pretty awesome too

http://www.humblepienmash.com/

Yum

TimC - 23/7/14 at 05:33 PM

Sorry Chaps, not ignoring you.

sdh2903 - the boxes that they arrive in are 115x115x65 - there's six of those obviously. You can save a bit of space by popping them in a sandwich bag rather than the box.

We don't claim a monopoly on good pies but we are very passionate about ours.

TimC - 23/7/14 at 08:52 PM

Managed to sort a discount code folks. Use CHILLOUT5 at the checkout to receive £5 off.

No more pie posts from me, promise.

I'm a big fan of Humble Pie n Mash. The best pies ever and the owner is a school chum who likes to keep me fat....

Damn, already order 12...

Can I suggest you look again at your delivery policy, telling someone it will arrive anytime in the next 4 working days is not ideal. I expected to be able to order and then choose when the deliver happens (as I do with our raw dog food supply). Many people are not in every day to take delivery.

chrisxr2 - 31/7/14 at 04:21 PM

My pies have arrived, but I am not home for a few weeks and the missus is eying them up, I hVe warned her of them.
