Paypal Robbers, beware
mark chandler - 13/6/17 at 02:47 AM

Purchased a leaf blower on line from a company, not through eBay for £174, it never arrived so called them up 'sorry sir, we will send you a refund in 10 days', next time I called they are in receivership

Not a problem, PayPal has the same guarantees as a credit card.... all they reply with is we have sent them a dispute mail, you need to settle it directly with the supplier.

That's it, you cannot call them, they have closed the dispute case which you cannot appeal that's it, how I wish I had used my barclaycard now

Beware, that's all I can say

That's outrageous Mark, PayPal is so convenient, its easy just to press the button to pay but I shall think twice before using it in the future after your experience.

Basically removes any benefit of using PayPal?

So, how did you pay off your paypal bill ?

I am guessing from credit, if you paid it off via your credit card you should still be covered by the credit card agreement shouldn't you.

No, you do not get section 75 credit card protection when using PayPal: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/credit-cards/PayPal-Section75

Credit cards do also have a chargeback system, separate from section 75, which I used (on principle) to recover £5 after an Amazon 'Market Place' dispute which Amazon refused to acknowledge.

pay-pals terms and conditions indicate that if you have a dispute with them, contact them first, and if that doesn't work, you can escalate it. they are responsible to 3 ombudsman bodies.

the easiest for you would probably be

Well, I donated 10 quid by paypal to this site, in order to get the contributor status and sell some parts I have in my garage. Sadly, I never got the contributor status. When contacted, Chris Wilkie claimed he does not see my transaction on his PayPal statement, even though it is both in my PayPal history and my credit card statement. So there you go! No need to shop for leaf blowers in seedy places in order to get conned!

Have you double checked the email address?

I have done that before
