Race Across America

My mad friend Shu crossed the finishing line of Race Across America just after 7am (2am local) this morning. She cycled 3004 miles in 12 days, 9 hours and 14 minutes. This year's Tour De France is 2088 miles in 22 days.

I'm staggered than anyone could even think of doing this let alone actually finish it!

Absolutely not car related, but I had to share a stunning achievement.

Oh yes, she's also the first British female to ever complete it solo.

She went over the Rockies & Appalachians for a total of 170,000 feet of climbing, 45C in the desert and some awful British weather on the last few days. She 'only' managed 2150 miles last year as she fell asleep on her bike and broke her collar bone.

Today I ran just over 3 miles in 45deg c heat with some altitude and was feeling reasonably happy with my self. Looking though the entrants in that competition, I am totally humbled.
