I tend not to support either team when I watch sport. It doesn't really make any difference who wins, so I'd rather just see a quality game and let the best team win.

Was it really a surprise?

I have been saying to all and sundry since England lost to Wales that England were out and that Australia would take pleasure in torturing England and chucking them out of the tournament. Too much of an opportunity for the Aussies to pass up.

Wales was close and they are currently rated 2nd in the world so no big loss in pride there.

We needed to take it to the Audries thought. They played well, our backs did little to help the team, even mike brown looked out of place and linear.

And the ref was french. . . .

To be fair, I think they tried there best, if you get beaten by a better team you just have to hold your hands up.

I've come to the conclusion that english people seem to do best at sitting down sports, ie motor racing, cycling, rowing, canoeing etc

Same same...
I´d do the same when i watch football, F1, or else.
When there´s appalling advantage, the show suffers.
real life is beter...
So trying to get away from TV...

I think the Aussies (damn them all) could go on to win it. They simply outplayed England. Which surprises me as their coach seems to be a oaf. I watched Ireland vs Italy yesterday and I think England would have hammered both, let alone the Aussies.

I am just sad for the sport of Rugby and I hope the loss other interest won't damage the sport to much in the UK. If England could have got to the final it would have meant so much for the World Cups Legacy in England. I work for a sports marketing and branding agency and I reckon that we probably lost 150K in future earnings

Pool of death, such a shame 3 good sides were in the same group, I think England being a youngish side the world cup has come around a year or two early for them
